PDF Size MB to KB ("the app", "we", "our") is developed by Mahesh Varma under JEWEALITY. The app is a utility that reduces the file size of PDF documents directly on your device — you pick a PDF, choose a compression level, and the app produces a smaller PDF without ever sending the document anywhere.

This policy applies to the PDF Size MB to KB Android application and describes our practices regarding information collection, use, and disclosure. It's written to match exactly how the app behaves — not a generic template.

Because compression happens entirely on your device, the app has no backend server and does not collect:

• The contents of your PDF files — text, images, pages, or metadata inside a document
• Your name, email address, phone number, or any account information (there is no account system)
• Precise or approximate location data
• Contacts, photos, camera, or microphone data — the app never requests these permissions
• Analytics or crash-reporting data — no analytics SDK is currently integrated in this app

There is no sign-up flow, no login, and no user profile anywhere in the app. You can use every feature without providing any personal information.

The app stores a small amount of information — but only locally on your device, in a private app database and settings store that we, JEWEALITY, cannot access remotely. None of it is transmitted to us.

Compression history

When a PDF is compressed successfully, the app saves a record to a local database (built with Android Room) so it can show your History screen. Each record contains:

This history lives entirely in a local database file inside the app's private storage. It is never synced to a cloud service or sent to JEWEALITY.

App settings and preferences

The app also stores your preferences locally (via Android DataStore), including:

• Your chosen default save folder
• Whether temporary files are automatically deleted after compression
• Whether the in-app PDF viewer or your device's default PDF app is used to open files
• Whether the app follows your system font size setting
• Your default/last-used compression level

These preferences stay on your device and are used only to personalize how the app behaves for you.

The app is designed to request the minimum permissions necessary. It does not request broad "all files" storage access.

On modern Android versions, the app uses the Storage Access Framework (ACTION_OPEN_DOCUMENT and ACTION_OPEN_DOCUMENT_TREE) instead of broad storage permissions. This means:

• You explicitly choose which PDF file to open using the system picker — the app cannot browse your files on its own
• If you choose a custom save folder, you explicitly grant access to that one folder — nothing else
• The app does not request the MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE "all files" permission

If you open a password-protected PDF, the app asks you to enter its password so it can unlock the document for processing. That password:

• Is used only in memory, on your device, to open and (optionally) re-encrypt the output file
• Is never written to the app's local database or settings storage
• Is never transmitted anywhere — including to us
• Is discarded automatically when you close the app or move to a new PDF

If you choose to "keep password protected," the app re-encrypts the compressed output with the same password you provided, entirely on-device.

PDF Size MB to KB shows ads served through Google AdMob to help keep the app free. Ads appear in two places:

• A small banner shown above the navigation bar on the Home and History screens
• An occasional full-screen ad shown after a PDF (or batch of PDFs) finishes compressing successfully

To select and measure ads, Google's advertising SDK may collect technical information such as your device's advertising identifier, general device and app information, IP address, and ad interaction data (impressions and clicks). This process is governed by Google's own privacy practices, not ours — we never share the contents of your PDF files with AdMob or any advertiser, and ad-related data collection is limited to what the Google Mobile Ads SDK itself performs.

The app relies on a small number of well-known components:

We do not currently use any analytics SDK, crash-reporting SDK, or cloud storage provider. If that changes in a future update, this policy will be updated first.

Compressed PDFs are saved to a Documents/PDF Size MB to KB folder on your device by default, or to a custom folder you select yourself. This is intentional: it means your compressed files remain accessible in your device's normal file system — they are not deleted just because you uninstall the app.

By contrast, the app's own local database (your History list) and settings/preferences are stored in the app's private storage area. These are removed automatically if you uninstall the app, or if you clear the app's data from Android system settings.

Temporary working files created during compression are stored in the app's private cache and are cleaned up automatically after each job. You can also enable "Auto Delete Temporary Files" in Settings, or trigger a manual cleanup at any time.

You're always in control of the data described above. From within the app you can:

• Clear your history — remove all compression records from Settings at any time
• Delete individual entries — remove a single compressed PDF and its history record from the results/history screen
• Change your save location — pick a different folder, or reset to the default, at any time
• Turn off the in-app viewer — open PDFs with your own preferred PDF app instead
• Manage permissions — revoke storage-related permissions any time from Android system settings
• Reset your advertising identifier — from your device's Google Settings → Ads menu
• Uninstall the app — this removes the app's local database and settings immediately

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data — such as the right to access, correct, delete, or export it, or to object to certain processing (for example, under the GDPR in the EU/UK, or the CCPA/CPRA in California).

Because this app has no server and no account system, most of these rights are already satisfied directly on your device: your history, settings, and files are visible and deletable inside the app itself, as described in Your Choices & Controls above. For anything related to the limited technical data collected by the Google AdMob SDK, please refer to Google's own privacy tools and policies linked in the Advertising section. PDF Size MB to KB is a general-purpose productivity utility and is not directed at children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, please contact us so we can address it.

Because your PDF content is processed entirely on your device and never transmitted, there is no server-side transmission or storage of your documents for anyone to intercept or breach. Your history and settings are protected by Android's standard per-app sandboxing, which prevents other apps from directly accessing this app's private data. As with any software, no method of storage or processing can be guaranteed 100% secure, but the app's local-only design significantly limits its exposure.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we add a new feature that changes what data is collected. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically, especially after updating the app.
